This design depicting hands raised in prayer was executed in many degrees of complexity. Here is an elegantly simple version set with a single cabochon stone in silver or bronze, closely modeled on a 14th century bronze artifact in our collection.

Hands raised in prayer clasp an opal, while a bezel below holds a ruby cabochon and the gold ring is ornamented with quatrefoils and beaded quadrants. This piece is wrought in the spirit of the finest medieval jewels as enshrined in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

The precise detail of this design was carved into a stone mold and cast in pewter by the original xth century craftsman in imitation of finer jewels. We liked it so much that we translated it to precious metal with a mold carved in much the same way.
